International Company of the Year Playtech

Playtech is a leading provider of online casino games, remote licensing and back office software for many of the better online casinos, poker and bingo sites. They are an Israeli based company with licensing for casinos in various jurisdictions. I have seen these casino licensed in Gibraltar, Malta, Kahnawake, Netherlands Antilles and more. Most of the casinos on the software do have a good reputation however, although this is not really what we are here to talk about.

In London Last week, during the 2010 AIM Awards – Playtech was voted "International Company of the Year". What is possibly most notable about this award is it in not a casino, poker, bingo or software related award. It is the All Irish Marketing Club, which gets together on an annual basis to celebrate outstanding business achievements. AIM has been doing this for 15 years and the awards, as well as the presentation ceremony are sponsored by Price Waterhouse Coopers, who if you are not aware, are an international accounting and auditing firm. The awards dinner attracts over 1300 guests and this includes representatives from brokers, accountants, lawyers, investment firms as well as AIM quoted company representatives. It is a very popular, and well supported as well as a highly prestigious awards ceremony.

The "AIM International Company of the Year" award is used to recognize all-round excellence amongst businesses registered on the London AIM, and which are part of overseas corporations. The recognition that this offers Playtech is as an international firm which continually achieves strong growth as it operates in multiple world-wide territories. The voting panel for the award consists of individuals who have track records of investing in or advising AIM quoted companies.

Mor Wiezer – the Chief Executive of Playtech was obviously delighted to receive the award which he did personally. This recognition comes about as Playtech market capitalization grew to more than £1.0 billion as seen in their recently published; August 2009, to July 31st 2010 results. This is an increase in revenue of 29%, most of which we are sure can be attributed to their fabulous new video slots game – Gladiator, have you seen it?

This is a brilliant game, themed on the brand of the Paramount Picture of the same name. It stars Russel Crowe, the late and great Oliver Ried, Joachim Phoneix, and a really delish black actor, I can't remember his name but he played in Constantine also. The game is superb and you really should check it out – while the ultimate prize is not your life, it is still worth playing for.

All jokes aside, the performance of this company has been phenomenal and Mr. Wiezer gives credence to the exceptional level of work commitment from the employees and partners at Playtech, he says this is their doing and it is they who keep the company a market leader in this industry. Playtech have also received significant contributions from Virtue Fusion.

They won the award ahead of African Minerals Ltd, Petra Diamonds Ltd and Hutchison China Meditech Ltd.
