Colorado: Studies about smoking ban inside casinos are incomplete
The debate concerning the prohibition of smoking in public places like land-based casino never ends, in some States of the USA such as Colorado. Lois Rice, from gaming industry of Colorado realized a study, aiming at to establish a link between the increase of smoking ban on casino’s grounds and the subsequent drop of ambulance calls, in the county of Gilpin. The result is like that: casinos attendance in 2008-09 felt from 17 to 22%.

However, this study didn’t take into account some parameters allowing knowing exactly the link between the ban of smoking inside casinos with their rooms of slot machines, and the fall of ambulance call number, in the county of Gilpin, in Colorado.

Besides, crisis had impacts on the number of customers who attended Colorado’s gaming institutions. So, the significant decrease of casino visits due to crisis, to which we can add other factors, has probably led the drop of ambulance requests.
