Saint-Trojan-les-Bains: A petition for a casino
The town of Saint-Trojan-les-Bains is located in the Charente-Maritime department, it has 1,500 residents. 1808 signatures in favour of opening a casino in the town have been collected so far, many permanent residents and regulars at the resort have contributed their support by signing the petition. For the inhabitants of Saint-Trojan-les-Bains, the establishment of a casino in their town could attract more tourists who would restart the mechanism of the stagnant local economy.

While the casino industry is itself hit full on by the crisis. We notice a clear decrease of the results from French gaming establishments. This decrease of activities in casinos often leads to layoffs of staff. It is true that a gaming establishment may revive the economy of a region and can make a significant financial resource for the town. The Emeraude Group is still waiting to receive the building permit for the construction of the casino and the petition has already reached the office of the prefect of the region.
